There are many elements in and out of the anime that viewers of the show should be aware of, many of which will push you to reconsider your perspective on the program. The following are some amazing facts about Darling in the Franxx that most fans are unaware of.

The Anime Has Well-Known Origins and Inspirations

While most people believe Darling in the Franxx sprang out of nowhere, especially considering it is an original animation with no manga source material, the anime was really inspired by a number of well-known anime.

Studio Trigger, which is known for producing original animation such as Kill La Kill, produced the show. The studio is recognized for its creative plots, which are always filled with over-the-top action, as shown in Promare. Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of its most obvious influences, with which it has numerous parallels and similarities. Moreover, Studio Trigger is made up of former Gainax personnel, the latter of whom was responsible for the creation of Evangelion.

The Characters’ Names Have A Numerical Meaning

In Japan, numbers are pronounced differently than in other languages. As in Darling in the Franxx, some syllables used for names can alternatively be read as numerals. This one-of-a-kind linguistic system not only gave the characters numbers for names, but also predicted significant events and disclosures.

When the codenames of Kokoro and Mitsuru (556 and 326, respectively) are combined together, the result is 882. The sum is “hahani,” which roughly translates to “to become a mother” in Japanese. Kokoro does, in fact, become a mother. Similarly and depending on who’s talking, 882 can also be pronounced as “papani,” which in turn means “to become a father” and is what happens to Mitsuru.

It Has A Manga

Unlike practically every other anime, Darling in the Franxx does not have a manga related to it. The manga was created after the fact and adds to the understanding of the situations shown in the episode. It also adds realism to various events, like as Ichigo attacking 002.

The manga’s conclusion appears to be very different from the anime’s; for example, there is no VIRM. Whether or whether this is a better ending for the characters remains to be seen, but fans can expect something completely different at the very least.

“Kiss Of Death” Was Performed By A Japanese Rockstar

The anime’s opening song, “Kiss of Death,” was composed by one of Japan’s most well-known musicians. Hyde is Japan’s top rockstar, having been around for decades, and he was more than willing to provide a hand with the anime.

Many Japanese viewers were pleasantly surprised by this, considering the country is completely enamored with Hyde’s music. Hearing his music in a well-known anime like Darling in the Franxx just added to its already exceptional quality.

Pregnancy In The Franxx

The anime’s viewpoint on pregnancy and how it can damage one’s ability to operate a Franxx has left many perplexed. Despite the fact that she is theoretically unable to operate one after testing positive for pregnancy, Kokoro manages to pilot her Franxx in the early stages of pregnancy before realizing she is carrying a child.

Many grownups in the anime are concerned that the stress of battling may easily kill the infant. Many fans claim that there was never enough research done on pregnant pilots because of this.

Hiro And 002 Are Canonically Married

Hiro and 002 are formally married in the series, which isn’t surprising given the lack of a legal structure in the scenario to state otherwise. This is demonstrated by 002 herself, who informs Hiro that they are going on their honeymoon in space.

While fans would love to see 002 in a wedding gown, it does not appear to be her style. However, if the manga decides to go with a happier ending and feature a straightforward wedding, this may alter.

Certain revelations are foreshadowed by the names of the locations

The names of the locations aren’t chosen at random; they’re all supposed to comment on current events and hint at crucial plot twists. For example, the Garden is named from the fact that the youngsters are raised in a controlled setting until they are ready to battle.

There’s also the Birdcage and the Bird Nest, which are designed to reflect different levels of freedom given to the children.
